Goin' retro? I remember you drew that old Volskwagen Type 2 (aka Kombi, Samba Bus) van, the first-gen model (T1; 1951-1975 in Brazil).

What makes this short so good? It has cold, authentic vibe of the pre-World War II (1939-1945) 2D-drawn animation with comprehensive, but not-so-clean sound that feels heavily compressed, and lack of actual voiced dialogue; the silent era of animation. Most importantly: the rubber hose style!

I can imagine if you animated one that inspired by the 1969-1990, the dark age of animation with low-budget, limited animation standard and target audience was kids, while the R-rated Akira movie challenged those unfortunate shenanigans. The short I suggested has rough, authentic vibe of the dark age-era animated motion picture with low budget, limited animations, intentionally childish tone, stereotyping, wraparound backgrounds, and maybe lazy-looking art style (Stylistic Suck).

Film too short, but you've done your best. You are good at 𝘚𝘵𝘺𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘬 trope. Also, the full-length episodes are, I expect, full of explicit violence, gore, foul language, uncanny valley, ugly visuals and adult themes... all of them on a budget!(?)

everything is consistently 12fps, including the live action, which might be your real issue

it's 12fps because all of our animation is on two's.
Roger Rabbit was on ones to match the live action, and we didn't want there to be juxtaposition between the live action and animation, so we rendered the live action at 12fps.
this ended up saving us in the editing process because it was less live action frames to manually paint out/color correct away the original reflection that was on Eddie

The animation and art style aged badly, but this short is faithful to the original source material, and it's also dark.
